I learned to sew and crochet in childhood. I made my own clothing in my teens. While in college and beginning my career, I did less sewing, but expressed my creativity through decorating my home and office, by inviting friends over to gather at my table to enjoy homemade bread and soup.
Soon after I began my career as a certified public accountant, I learned to knit, and I also made my first quilt. But it wasn’t until after my first daughter was born, that I started sewing more. I needed that creative outlet! I needed to complete something that wouldn’t be undone in a few minutes.
I love designing and creating items that are both beautiful and practical.
My goal of this blog is to share with you my creative journey as I sew, knit, crochet, garden, cook, and try to live a more beautiful life. Make a cup of tea, pull up a chair, and join in my journey while you read.
In this blog post, I will show you an easy way to piece 40 strips of a roll of precut 2 1/2” strips of fabric into a quilt top. The finished size before borders is approximately 55” square. In a future blog post, I will show you how to add borders to make a larger quilt.
